Learning vs. Searching and a Tax Notice
09/22/2022- Weekly newsletter – Learning vs. searching and a tax notice
Greetings!
Did you know that YouTube is the second most popular search engine after Google? And (for Gen Z) Tik Tok is giving Facebook a run for its money, per U.S. Today 09/21/2022.
I was stunned when I heard this, and after giving it, some thought realized that when people want to learn something specific, they check YouTube, not Safari, Bing or Yahoo, or Google, for that matter.
Recently, I discovered a dent in my new stainless-steel refrigerator and went nuts. Of course, I know exactly how it happened, and rather than aggravating myself, I turned to YouTube to learn how to remove the damage. After watching several videos, I determined the best way to remove the sucker was to use a dent puller- mini suction.
I hopped over to Amazon and bought my trusty little device. It was delivered the following day, and I got to work on the door. Using my hair dryer and the puller, I removed the defect after heating the metal, pulled on the metal puller, and then it’s rinse and repeated it many times. It isn’t perfect, but you would not know it was there as the spot is now the home of a magnet. Someday, I will probably go back and finish the job.
So, it’s learning vs. searching.
I regularly consult YouTube when I need to learn how to master a program that is giving me angst. Right now, that is funnel automation. I poured over YouTube when trying to figure out Adobe Photoshop, needed to learn about Excel formulas, or had a problem on my iMac that needed to be resolved. I do love YouTube!
Everyone in business knows that consumers would rather watch a video than read about a product or service, and that’s why marketing is headed to videos in the future.
So, we have a YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCduBN5wTQHp7wX-KBCuRlTg, which we are trying to grow. We will create new videos weekly after Jeff completes his teaching stints, and I have the latest information and stories ready for him. So watch for the latest and greatest.
